Namaste. Welcome to
Strī Dharma.org

Mahāperiyava said, 'Strī Mūlam Sarva Dharmam' which means that all dharma rests on women's ability to uphold dharma.

The upholding of dharma by becoming practitioners as well as by sharing the correct knowledge of the practices of Strī Dharma is a responsibility that women must shoulder. A child's first Guru is its mother. Similarly, if Bhārat is to be the Vishva Guru, then every woman of Bhārat must be equipped with the right knowledge of dharma to guide their family and community in the path of dharma.

To all the dear daughters of the Divine Mother

The questions you asked have been heard.

The questions you didn't ask have been felt.

Your moments of clarity and confusion,

Your moments of surrender and rebellion.

Your anxiety, your piety, your fear, your love;

Mother knows.

She gives you this gift,

As She gave your ancestors.

Unwrap it carefully, absorb it fully;

And it will lead you to Her. But Mother says,

Be not mine, dear daughter;

Be Me. Be Śrī.

About the text

Know about the ancient source text, and the new book on Str Dharma.

The Strī Dharma Paddhatiḥ unveils the Vaidika sādhanā mārg which is customised for a woman’s body and mind. The original text is an 18th-century Saṃskṛtam compilation titled "Strīdharmapaddhatiḥ" by Paṇḍit Tryambakayajvan. This text was compiled at the behest of Maratha Queen Deepamba, the wife of King Ekoji, and was compiled sometime between 1719 and 1750 CE. The original palm-leaf manuscript of this text is still preserved in the Saraswathi Mahal Library in Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu).  This work stands as a reliable authority on the religious and spiritual practices of Hindu women according to the Veda-s and Śāstra-s. By following the prescriptions of the Strī Dharma Paddhatiḥ, the Ṛṣi-s have said that a woman can have it all: fulfilment of desires in this world and attainment of the highest goal in the next world. The English translation and interpretation of this work takes a scientific approach to interpreting the Saṃskṛtam verses, using the language of the subtle science of tridoṣa-s, nāḍī-s, pañcaprāṇa-s, marma-s and cakra-s to help us comprehend how the Ṛṣi-s perceived reality. It draws on ancient sciences such as Āyurveda, Tantra, Vāstu and Jyotiṣa Śāstra, as well as modern research studies, offering a comprehensive understanding of the advanced science behind Hindu rituals and traditions. The original Saṃskṛtaṃ verses of the Strīdharmapaddhatiḥ along with the English translation and scientific interpretation of each verse is now available in two volumes.

This section also clarifies the misunderstood practices of Sahagamana (sati) and Vidhavā Dharma (for widows), which will be an eye-opener. Parts 2 and 3 of this book reveal the sādhanā paddhatiḥ of exceptional women from the Veda-s and Purāṇa -s, such as Lopāmudra, Draupadī, Anasūya, Kauśalya, Sītā, Śāndili, Oghavatī, Savitrī and others, offering insights into the practices which made them well-known.
